A man in Ekiti is accused of sexually abusing a woman.

Ajayi Oluwatosin, 42, has been charged by the Ekiti State police with sexual assault on a woman and is being held at the Chief Magistrate's Court in Ado-Ekiti.

Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the prosecution, informed the court that the defendant had assaulted one Okuwoga Ibukun without her consent at Iworoko-Ekiti, in the Igbemo-Ekiti Magisterial District, on or around September 18, 2025.

The offender violated Section 269(1) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021, and was punished for it, according to Inspector Oriyomi.

Messr. O. G. Abiola, the defendant’s attorney, pleaded with the court to grant his client liberal bail, claiming that he would not violate it.

He was given N50,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, along with a corresponding amount from one surety.

The hearing in this matter was postponed until October 23.
