The ceremony is set for September 26 at Mapo Hall, following interdenominational prayers at the Olubadan Palace in Ibadan North Local Government Area.

Oba Ajibola, alongside other dignitaries, explained that Ladoja’s ascension was preordained, contrasting the earlier succession of Oba Olakulehin, which was marked by uncertainty. He recounted how, during Olakulehin’s time, there was difficulty in confirming his fitness for the throne, unlike Ladoja, who was in communication with the ruling council promptly after Olakulehin’s passing.

Ajibola described the Olubadan throne as unique and emphasized that Ladoja’s readiness for the crown eliminated potential disputes. The clear succession lines—the Otun and Balogun—ensured a smooth transition, with Ladoja now representing the Otun line following the recent Balogun line reign.

Moreover, leaders from various religious backgrounds gathered to pray for peace and development during Ladoja’s reign. Ajeniyi Ajewole, representing the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, expressed optimism about Ladoja’s leadership as historically significant for the community. The event featured prayers from Christian, Muslim, and traditional leaders, fostering unity among the different faiths.
