The encounter was the happiest moment of Makinwa’s life, she revealed in a message posted on her Instagram page on Thursday.
It read, “I am a mother.” I’m happier than I’ve ever been.
“My darling daughter, my love, the love I never knew existed, my heart in another person.”
“Throughout my life, I have witnessed God’s goodness. I have witnessed God at work; I no longer merely hear about it. It concluded with the words, “My miracle is here.”
She said that the arrival of her daughter, Yakira Eliana Olakitan Iyanuoluwa Ikeoluwa Adunola, was evidence of God’s goodness.
“Adunola, Olakitan, Iyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa, and Yakira Eliana.” My justification, my evidence, and my aim. I’m grateful that you picked me and gave me motherhood.
“My heart is so full of thankfulness. God listened and responded.
“Oh, he heard my prayers in every single detail, right down to your fingers and toes.
“Meet my miracle, Yakira Eliana—of great worth, precious, and beloved—my God has answered.”
The 40-year-old confirmed her pregnancy earlier this month by showing off her baby bulge.
Makinwa, who had previously discussed her wish to become a mother and explored options including surrogacy, called the pregnancy the most important period of her life.
In a video with Afrobeat artist Falz, the media celebrity had previously made a joke about possibly choosing surrogacy because she didn’t want to “ruin her shape.”
