NSM reported that the bandits targeted a mosque in Mantau Village last week Tuesday.

According to a statement on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Mohammed, Governor Radda, during his visit to the hamlet, provided an immediate assistance package of 500,000 Naira for each affected household.

Briefing journalists after his visit, Radda expressed deep grief over the attack and urged locals to unite against insecurity.

“What I witnessed were distressed families, burned-out homes, and tragic orphans. We asked them what they needed, and I told them that the government will deal with each issue individually,” he said.

He clarified that after residents had previously repelled bandits, killing seven and capturing firearms, the hamlet was assaulted in retaliation.
According to him, 76 villagers were abducted, 20 houses were set on fire, and 32 people were killed—20 inside the mosque and 12 outside—but they were freed the following day thanks to a quick Nigerian Air Force raid.

According to the statement, the Governor authorized designs for a new school and hospital and instructed the Ministry of Works to go and evaluate Mantau Road.

He also pledged to help the families of the dead, rebuild houses that had been devastated, and renovate mosques.

Radda reaffirmed the dedication of his government to public safety.

“We’ll keep defending people and property,  Humanity, not politics, is what security is all about. “Insha’Allah, we will triumph with the help of our people,” he declared.
