For years, Tiwa Savage has been celebrated for her powerhouse vocals, chart-topping hits, and global stage presence. At 42, the Koroba singer says she recently made a deeply personal decision: to freeze her eggs. It wasn’t about immediate plans for more children, but about keeping the option alive. “Having my first child in my 30s was beautiful because I was more financially and emotionally stable,” she reflected. “One advice I will give to women in their 30s is, whether you want children or not, freeze your eggs. I wish I did it earlier, but I’ve done it now. At least I have that insurance.”

Savage, who welcomed her son Jamil in 2015 with ex-husband Tunji “Teebillz” Balogun, says the decision came from a place of realism about a woman’s biological clock. “You could wake up at 36 and your egg reserve is done. That’s when you decide you want to have kids and that can be heartbreaking. I’m really a big advocate for egg freezing now.”

The conversation didn’t stop at motherhood. Tiwa also opened up about her changing standards in relationships and why love alone isn’t enough for her anymore. “I used to make the mistake of dating down, saying I don’t care if you’re not making money, it’s just love. But now, I think I need someone that just has money. Love is nice, but you can judge me if you want. I’ve tried the other way for so many years. Now I want to try dating a wealthy man.”
