Makinde made this statement at the Bodija market in Ibadan when the PDP campaign officially kicked off and the party’s flag was presented to Mr. Folajimi Oyekunle, the party’s by-election candidate.
According to the governor, Oyekunle is the most qualified individual to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives and is trustworthy and competent.

Makinde encouraged all eligible voters in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency to support the PDP candidate on August 16 while expressing gratitude to the state’s citizens for their support since the beginning of his government.

Earlier in his welcome speech, Mr. Ademola Omotosho, the director-general of the Folajimi Oyekunle campaign, urged the constituency’s residents to cast their ballots in large numbers for the PDP candidate on election day.

Prior to becoming the PDP candidate, Oyekunle, a former member of the House of Assembly, served as Governor Makinde’s deputy chief of staff, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
