Speaking to media in Abuja on Thursday, Shehu Dikko, the chairman of the National Sports Commission, made the news. Additionally, he attested that all entitlements had been paid out for players, coaches, and officials to receive right away, up until and including the July 26 final.

Dikko called the gift a sign of a renewed commitment to Nigerian athletes under Tinubu’s leadership and referred to it as “policy in motion.” He promised that making on-time payments without any drama or delays would now be the norm moving forward.

Dikko stated that D’Tigress will earn better allowances and bonuses as part of the transfer, which also applies to Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, who will start their 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket campaign in Côte d’Ivoire.

We are creating a sports administration that is based on shared prosperity, dignity, and trust. “President Tinubu’s reforms in the sports sector will be appreciated by future generations,” he remarked.
