Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr has made history by becoming the first African artist to receive a Latin Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Her global hit single ‘Santa’, a collaboration with Jamaican producer Rvssian and Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro, achieved the prestigious milestone after surpassing 35 million streams in the United States.

This achievement places Ayra Starr in an elite category alongside fellow Nigerian star Rema, whose track ‘Bubalu’ has earned a Latin Platinum certification, making them the only two African artists with RIAA Latin honors.

‘Santa’ has also seen massive success across Latin America and Europe. It has been certified multi-Platinum in both Spain and Mexico, topped the charts in Spain, and climbed to the No. 2 spot in Colombia, Ecuador, and several Central American countries.

Ayra Starr’s historic feat further solidifies her status as one of Africa’s most influential and boundary-breaking music exports.
