Matheus Nunes, a midfielder for Manchester City, has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of stealing a cell phone from a Madrid nightclub.

According to Dailymails, the 26-year-old Portuguese international was reportedly arrested at La Riviera, a well-known club, early on September 8 and brought to a nearby police station to be questioned.

According to Spanish daily El Mundo, Nunes was arrested at around 5:30 a.m. after it was alleged that he had stolen a phone from a 58-year-old man who had tried to take a picture of him without permission in the nightclub’s lavatory.

According to El Mundo, Nunes, a Brazilian native, stole the phone out of rage and refused to give it back. When the police arrived on the scene and discovered the phone in his hands, they allegedly detained Nunes.
