In response, the FCC emphasized in a statement released by Dr. Chuks Okoli, Director of Public Affairs and Communication, that Wabara was informed—during a visit to FCC Executive Chairman Dr. Muheeba Dankaka—that the commission was not operating as a recruiting agency in March 2023.

The statement went on to say that the commission’s responsibility was to keep an eye on hiring practices across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to guarantee equity and fairness.

In addition, the FCC issued a challenge to Wabara to substantiate his allegations, advising the public to reject his accusations of a “bribe for FCC job slot,” noting that the Executive Chairman had strictly adhered to the Federal Character standards in the hiring process ever since assuming office.

It would be very appreciated if His Excellency, the former Senate President, could provide evidence to support this serious claim, or at least identify the individual or people who allegedly urged him to pay a bribe in order to obtain FCC job spots for his granddaughters and offspring.

The general public is being requested and encouraged to reject this unsupported claim made by former renowned Senator Adolphus Wabara of a “bribe for FCC Job slot.” Since taking office, the Executive Chairman has enforced the Federal Character concept strictly when it comes to MDA staff hiring.
