This was said by him yesterday during the groundbreaking ceremony for the renovation of Ibadan Airport, which is now known as Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan.

Senator Ademola Adeleke, the acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ilyas Damagum, members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), and other party members escorted the governor to the function.

According to Makinde, Craneburg has been awarded the first phase of the project, which would cost N41 billion. The state government’s plea to modernize the facility was approved, and he thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for that.

He added that the government had also updated some of the facilities, which increased the number of airlines in their flight schedules, including Ibadan, and that the choice to launch the project was based on logic, science, and facts.
“We have awarded Craneburg this first phase at N41 billion,” Makinde declared.

“Go to Angola; they recently completed their $3 billion airport if you want to know what we are doing.” This is no jest. We in Oyo State are daring, and you have to be too, if you want to get into this $3 billion market.

“Our data is here. In response to individuals who believe this endeavor is improper, we make decisions grounded in facts, logic, and science. This airport’s improvement is the result of sound reasoning and facts. Please allow us to argue this in public if you have data of your own that contradicts. I have no doubt that this project will be completed within the next 12 months. I’m going to push the boundaries.

“We have also made some facility upgrades, which has led to an increase in the number of airlines operating flights that include Ibadan.”
Adeleke praised Makinde for his enthusiasm and dedication to improving Oyo State and its citizens in all respects.
