This was revealed in a Saturday interview in Lagos with the News Agency of Nigeria by Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, the NYSC Coordinator for Lagos State.

According to Baderinwa, a circular had been issued by NYSC to that effect.

“Recent observations have shown that some graduates of polytechnics and mlnotechnics do not adhere to the mandatory one-year IT prior to being admitted for HND program,” stated Baderinwa.For HND, the one-year IT program is required.

Before applying for an HND, they must complete the one-year IT and provide proof of completion; institutions must verify this before allowing them to apply for an HND.

“The instruction will go into effect at the following orientation camp, and candidates who did not finish or go through the process will not be registered.”

According to her, the action will uphold the integrity of Nigeria’s educational system.

The coordinator states that before being registered at any NYSC orientation camp, prospective corps members who are HND graduates will need to provide proof that they have completed the IT.
