William Aya, the public relations officer for the state police, verified this on Saturday.

According to Aya, who spoke with our correspondent, the caretaker chairman was abducted on Friday night in the Kabba region of the state along Kabba-Okene Road.

Due to the sensitivity of the situation, sources who spoke on condition of anonymity claimed that Michael and a few of his assistants were taken captive.

According to one of the sources, gunmen abducted CTC Kabba/Bunu Chairman Zacchaeus Dare Michael and a few of his aides on the Kabba-Okene Expressway in Kabba.

All reliable information that could contribute to their safe recovery is being sought for by authorities.
