Bobrisky is set to be released on August 5th, according to a prison source and lawyer Ayo Olumofin. Olumofin confirmed the release, stating there’s no specific plan for his release, possibly due to his engagement outside Lagos.

On April 5, 2024, Bobrisky was charged with four counts of abusing Naira, which were brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Bobrisky committed the crime on March 24, 2024, at the IMAX Circle Mall in Jakande Lekki, according to the EFCC’s prosecuting attorney, Suleiman Suleiman, who testified in court. He claimed that Bobrisky, while dancing at a social function, tempered the amount of N400,000 that was distributed by the Nigerian Central Bank by misting the same.

Suleiman further reported to the court that at a social event in July and August of 2023 at Ajah Junction, Ikorodu, Bobrisky stole N50,000 by spraying the same amount while dancing. The EFCC also said that at some point in December 2023, Bobrisky tampered with N20,000 by spraying the same while Ikeja was dancing at the White Steve event hall. The Central Bank Act of 2007’s Section 21 (1) was violated, according to the prosecutor.
