Eventually, the business wants to include SearchGPT into its ChatGPT chatbot.
This breakthrough is thought to pose a threat to Google’s hegemonic status in the search engine industry.

Alphabet investors have been concerned about OpenAI’s ability to overtake Google in market share by providing new methods for people to search for information online ever since ChatGPT launched in November 2022.

Designed to make searching more natural and intuitive, SearchGPT also lets users ask follow-up inquiries in a conversational manner.

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, voiced hope for better search functionality, saying there’s still room for big improvements.

The news had an effect on Alphabet’s shares, which closed at $167.28 after falling more than 3%, while the Nasdaq experienced a less than 1% decline.
