Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and said, “Memory Choga was apprehended on July 19, 2024, in connection with her husband’s murder at Jeche Primary School in Sadza.” The victim was attacked with a log after a disagreement over the transfer of his pay into his EcoCash account, resulting in many wounds. He passed away from his wounds.

Memory Choga is still being held by the police while they look into her husband Douglas Jeche’s murder. The incident that resulted in Jeche’s death is currently being investigated by the authorities.

As the legal procedure progresses, Commissioner Paul Nyathi gave the public the reassurance that “justice will take its course.” The community is grieving the loss of respected educator Douglas Jeche and finding it difficult to accept the awful circumstances of his passing.
