The Lagos State Government’s (SSG) Secretary, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, asserts that there is no justification for protesting in the state.
This was said by Salu-Hundeyin on Tuesday in Ikeja during the SSG’s meeting with the Local Government (SLG) Secretaries. She stated that there should be no cause for complaint because of the state government’s unfulfilled deliveries.

This was said by Salu-Hundeyin on Tuesday in Ikeja during the SSG’s meeting with the Local Government (SLG) Secretaries. She stated that there should be no cause for complaint because of the state government’s unfulfilled deliveries.
Citizens have the right to protest since there is nothing wrong with it, but they should exercise caution to ensure that their protests do not degenerate into violent or harmful demonstrations.
“No one in Lagos State should stand up and claim they are going to break anything because the state has done so much for its residents.
“Sincerely, and I mean it; it is not because I am the Secretary of the State Government; I speak from my heart and God knows; there is no reason for anybody to cause any protests or riots or violence in Lagos State.
“For the nascent peace we are enjoying in Nigeria now, the development that we are seeing; particularly in Lagos State; we do not want anything to tamper with all that Lagos State is enjoying.
“This is a state that before the Federal Government agreed to pay ₦70,000 minimum wage, Lagos State has been doing the same ₦70,000.
“Lagos is the only state that is not owing pensioners a kobo, if you retire today, you begin to get your pension immediately. Lagos State Government is doing so much,” she said.
Salu-Hundeyin stated that the state administration has made significant progress in various areas of the economy, including as the Ilera Eko Medical Insurance Scheme, the construction of a medical university, the improvement of transportation, and the engagement of youngsters.
According to her, the purpose of the meeting with the SLGs was to exchange and compare notes as well as to cascade state-level development down to the local level.
They will always provide me with input. “We just try to compare notes and make sure that whatever Mr. Governor is doing under the THEMES+ Developmental Agenda is reaching the grassroots.” If there are any gaps that require attention, we address them.
“The secretaries are a little anxious and apprehensive. We talked about the protest as parents; nobody wants to beat someone with a stick, but as parents, what can we do if these are their complaints?
“Where is the failure of the government? As a government, we should likewise examine ourselves from the inside out. The SSG said, “Government should look into this if truly our people are saying this is what we are not happy about, which is why we are here.”
According to Scribe 57 Chairman Akeem Dauda, the planned protest in Lagos was unwarranted and unneeded given the actions of the state government. According to Dauda, the secretaries decided to discuss the matter with the young people in their local governments.
He said, “We have decided that we will return home, talk to our brothers and children, and ask them to likewise look at it from a different standpoint and perspective.
The chairman exhorted the young people to protect their nation rather than destroy it.
