In order to address and resolve the ongoing concerns surrounding the Dangote Refinery, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil) called a high-level meeting with key stakeholders on Monday night.
Mr. Aliko Dangote, Chairman/CEO of the Dangote Group; Mr. Farouk Ahmed, Authority Chief Executive, Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA); Mr. Gbenga Komolafe, Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC); and Mr. Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC) were among those in attendance, according to a statement released by the Minister’s media assistant, Nneamaka Okafor.
As to the release, the meeting “highlights the Minister’s commitment to creating a favorable atmosphere for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and represents a noteworthy stride towards addressing the obstacles.”
According to Ms. Okafor, the Minister received appreciation from the stakeholders for his outstanding leadership and prompt intervention in arranging this important discussion.
“All parties demonstrated a commitment to collaborative and proactive problem-solving during the meeting, which focused on finding a sustainable and long-lasting solution to the current impasse affecting the Dangote Refinery.”
The Minister underlined that for the oil and gas industry to succeed and operate at its best—which is essential for Nigeria’s economic development and energy security—all stakeholders must work together harmoniously.
