In an audio message recorded in Yoruba, the activist’s spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, forewarned the herders to depart right now.
“On July 15, 2024, all those residing in Oke Ogun, living within the bushes there, who are kidnappers and are killing people, are ordered to leave immediately,” Koiki stated.

Igboho declared on Sunday that he would carry on working at Oke-Ogun, in Kishi, and in all the areas that comprised Oke-Ogun. He promised to touch every last location.

“Every armed herdsman in Oke-Ogun ought to go out of the bush. You are not the owner of the forest. We own the land.”

He continued by saying he is also waiting for the Obas in other Yoruba-speaking regions to report any incidents in which they are subjected to attacks by armed herdsmen.
Igboho has made it plain on the tape that he is not battling any governors, but he is prepared to drive the herders who are bothering his people outside of their zone.

He said that after receiving approval from the rulers of Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, and Osun, his troops will comb every woodland that herders currently occupy throughout the Yoruba lands.

He stated that his troops “are currently working on how to storm the forests in Oke Ogun land in Oyo and warned all armed herdsmen living there to vacate immediately.”

The notification was sent when residents of Oyo’s Oke Ogun area called out, accusing the herders of kidnapping, killing, and preventing them from farming.

Sunday Igboho has already sent out similar notices.

During President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, he had previously served Fulani herdsmen with a similar eviction notice, which resulted in his incarceration in the Benin Republic.
