According to Naija Street Matters, the cleric made the announcement on Tuesday through a post on his official Facebook page, where he explained that the decision was aimed at securing the young woman’s wellbeing and long-term care.

In his statement, Chinyere introduced her, noting that despite being autistic, she is able to communicate effectively. He also made it clear that he is seeking a suitable man who would be willing to marry her under specific conditions.

He outlined that any interested suitor must be a young individual who is physically strong and mentally sound, emphasizing that the candidate must be capable of taking proper responsibility.

To encourage serious interest, the pastor attached several incentives to the arrangement. These include lifetime financial assistance, a house provided at no cost for life, and a property that would be jointly owned by both the husband and wife. He further stated that officials from the church would carry out periodic, unannounced visits to ensure the woman is being properly cared for and living in a safe and supportive environment.

Chinyere stressed that the entire arrangement is designed to guarantee her protection, happiness, and overall quality of life.

This development comes shortly after a similar initiative by the pastor, where he arranged the marriage of a non-verbal autistic man popularly known as Aboy. The ceremony, which took place on March 29, attracted widespread public attention.

The move generated mixed reactions, as some individuals questioned the issue of consent, personal dignity, and the moral implications of organizing marriages for people with cognitive challenges.

In response to the criticism that followed, the cleric later rewarded Aboy—now renamed Elijah—with a Lexus car and a parcel of land. He also appointed him as an ambassador for the church’s free educational programme dedicated to children living with autism and Down syndrome.
