During a Sunday hospital visit, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, the state’s acting governor, disclosed this to media in an interview.

Along with his colleagues from the states of Borno and Adamawa, Mai Mala Buni and Umaru Fintiri, Governor Babagana Zulum is currently in Pakistan for a business trip.

Of the 42 injured victims who were admitted to the hospital, 16 have been released, according to Kadafur, while 24 are still receiving care there.

The acting governor also declared that the state government is guaranteeing the victims receive proper medical care and has paid the victims’ medical bills.
He added that the state administration denounced the attacks on civilians and that the war against terrorism and insurgency must go on in spite of the incident.

Additionally, Kadafur disclosed that the attackers capitalized on the public’s lack of alertness after the state’s relative tranquility was established.

In order to prevent another incidence like this one, he further urged the public to be extra watchful and report any suspicious activity or people they see in their neighborhood to security personnel.

Senator Ali Ndume, the Senate Chief Whip, Ahmadu Jaha, a member of the National Assembly who represents the Damboa, Gwoza, and Chibok Federal Constituencies, and other government representatives escorted Kadafur to the hospital.
