When demonstrators attempted to storm Kenya’s Parliament on Tuesday, police opened fire with live ammunition, killing many of them.

To assist the police in handling “the security emergency” in Kenya, the military was sent there.
Ruto has compared some of the protestors to “criminals” and threatened to take a firm stance against “violence and anarchy.”

President Ruto went on, “It has become clear that the public still insists that we need to make more concessions.”

He declared, “I lead people as well as running a government, and the people have spoken.”

“I express my gratitude to every member of the National Assembly who supported the finance bill on Tuesday,” the speaker added, adding that the widespread protests that followed the bill’s passage brought about certain changes.

“After considering the ongoing discussion surrounding the finance bill 2024 and paying close attention to Kenyans, who have made it clear that they have no desire to deal with the bill…,” As a result, I give in and refuse to sign the 2024 financial measure.
