LAWMA begins a manhunt for a motorist who threw trash from his vehicle.

The incident occurred at Adeniyi Jones crossroads inwards Aromire, in the Ikeja axis of Lagos State, according to the agency in a statement via X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday.

The statement stated that efforts to force the woman to pick up the trash were futile since she drove away.

“A woman driving a yellow car, with number plate FST 670 YF, was spotted this morning at Adeniyi Jones junction inwards Aromire, dropping waste from her car,” according to the statement. All attempts to get her to clean up the trash were futile, as she drove away.”

The agency did, however, note that it had contacted its sister agency, the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, to flag her down if she was sighted anywhere in the city. It went on to say that if she was found, she would be detained and prosecuted under Lagos state’s environmental laws.

“All LASTMA officials are hereby instructed to flag down her car wherever she is seen.” “She will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with state environmental laws,” the statement continued. Furthermore, the agency stated that attempts to keep the environment clean will be successful only if inhabitants of the state work together with the government.

“We cannot consolidate on the efforts to make the environment cleaner and better when a few individuals are bent on derailing the government’s efforts,” the statement went on to say.
