Edo government dissolves executive council

The State Executive Council was disbanded on Wednesday by Mr. Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo State.

The governor thanked council members for their service to the state’s administration and citizens in a press release from Crusoe Osagie, Special Adviser, Media Project to Obaseki.
“The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has dissolved the State Executive Council, expressing gratitude to members of the council for their service to the government and people of the State,” read the statement.

“The governor declared that the council’s dissolution is effective right away.

“On Wednesday’s Weekly Executive Council meeting, the state’s cabinet was disbanded.

The governor added that all Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants had their appointments terminated as of today.
