The updated list reveals key figures such as Nyesom Wike, Ademola Adeleke, Sheriff Oborevwori, and Babatunde Fashola, with President Tinubu at the helm and vice-chairmen including Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda.
In a statement from APGA’s National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, Soludo’s appointment is characterized as a recognition of his robust leadership and dedication to progressive ideals, emphasizing his advocacy for a partnership between APGA and the Federal Government, aimed at benefiting Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo.
Opara noted that Soludo’s mantra, “Progressives are Working Together,” encapsulates their shared beliefs, asserting that APGA is Nigeria’s first truly progressive party that aligns with the central progressive movement. This collaboration is already translating into significant benefits for Anambra, such as federal efforts in vital infrastructure and economic growth.
Despite APGA’s stronghold in Anambra State, the party has announced its strategy for the upcoming elections—supporting Tinubu for the presidency while fielding candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives, and the State House of Assembly under its banner. APGA has also formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu as their consensus candidate for the presidential election, affirming that they will not field a competing candidate.
The party expresses confidence that Governor Soludo will leverage his intellectual prowess and organizational skills to rally support for Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda,’ fostering significant backing from the South-East region. The statement concludes with a rallying affirmation of collaboration among progressives and enthusiastic congratulations directed at Soludo and the APGA membership.
