In a recent operational report released by the army to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), it was disclosed that significant military operations took place over the last 24 hours targeting terrorist activities in various regions, particularly in the North-East. The army’s 222 Battalion intercepted 20 individuals—consisting of nine women, two men, and nine children—who are suspected family members of Boko Haram insurgents. These individuals reportedly fled from the Gezuwa terrorist camp after an attack by rival ISWAP fighters and were subsequently handed over to military authorities for further investigation.

Additionally, two suspected collaborators who allegedly supplied hard drugs to Boko Haram were arrested in Geidam, Yobe State. During this operation, the army recovered items including cannabis, 11 mobile phones, and cash amounting to ₦14,530, highlighting the logistics network supporting terrorist activities.

In Monguno, troops captured two alleged logistics suppliers to ISWAP who confessed to transporting food items to terrorists in Kukawa. The forces found them in possession of mobile phones, an assault knife, an ISWAP gate pass, and ₦6,600, underscoring the ongoing threat from these groups.

The military also reported a successful rescue operation where a woman kidnapped in November 2025 was freed in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno and reunited with her family after receiving medical assistance. Furthermore, Operation FANSAN YAMMA led to the rescue of 14 kidnapped victims, the recovery of 281 stolen livestock, and two motorcycles during a confrontation with terrorists in Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

Separate engagements in Sabon Birni, Sokoto, and Zurmi, Zamfara, resulted in the abandonment of two kidnapped victims by terrorists, one of whom suffered gunshot wounds and required hospitalization. The army noted the arrest of a suspect linked to attacks in Southern Kaduna during operations in Plateau, where troops also focused on assisting injured farmers targeted in a violent conflict with suspected herders. In Riyom, 27 cattle were confiscated from fleeing attackers, and 19 suspects were apprehended following a coordinated response to an ambush that resulted in the deaths of two soldiers.
