The kidnappers demanded a ransom of N30 million for Owoade’s release, communicating with the family via the victim’s mobile phone shortly after the abduction.

The incident occurred between 5 PM and 6 PM, and Owoade’s son, Abiola Owoade, recounted the events, noting that the family was contacted by the abductors shortly after the kidnapping. A search team later discovered the victim’s abandoned motorcycle in a nearby bush around 8:20 AM the following day.
