At the 14th meeting of the Delta State Tenders Board for 2026, which took place on Tuesday at the Conference Hall of the Office of the Deputy Governor, Government House, Asaba, the approval was given.
The Otu-Jeremi/Udu Road, which runs from the Warri–Port Harcourt Expressway at ECN Junction to the DSC Expressway at Udu Road Junction with a spur connecting to Otor-Udu, will be renovated and rebuilt as part of this project.
The Ministry of Works (Highways and Urban Roads) will carry out the road project, which includes portions of Ughelli South and Udu Local Government Areas.
Izeze Reuben, the Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), stated during the meeting that the approval showed the state’s dedication to enhancing road infrastructure throughout Delta.
According to him, the project would enhance community connectivity, make it easier for people and commodities to move about, and promote business and economic activity in the impacted areas.
He claims that the renovation is in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which emphasizes providing long-lasting infrastructure to raise the level of living for locals.
When the project is finished, the commissioner is certain that it will shorten travel times, enhance transportation, and support the socioeconomic growth of the communities along the corridor.
