“Napoli welcomes Massimiliano Allegri as manager of the first team,” the statement stated, noting that the 58-year-old had committed to a three-year deal that would run through 2029.
Allegri has coached AC Milan (2010-14, 2025-26) and Juventus (2014-19, 2021-24). After the squad failed to qualify for the Champions League the following season, Milan fired him.
Nine of the twenty Serie A teams have had new coaches since the season ended, including Fiorentina (Fabio Grosso), Atalanta Bergamo (Maurizio Sarri), AC Milan (Ruben Amorim, Portuguese), and Napoli.

Conte, who led Napoli to the Serie A championship in 2024–2025, has been hailed as the front-runner to become Italy’s next coach.

The former Italy international previously managed the national side between 2014 and 2016, guiding them to the Euro 2016 quarter-finals where they lost on penalties to Germany.
