Mamadi Doumbouya, the president of Guinea, has received a formal invitation from President Bola Tinubu to make a state visit to Nigeria.

This came after a bilateral meeting on the fringes of Thursday’s Africa CEO Forum in Kigali.

When Sunday Dare, Special Advisor to the President on Media and Publicity, informed media following the day’s events, he disclosed that the two leaders also talked about possible collaboration in Guinea’s enormous mining and metals industry.

Doumbouya accepted the invitation, according to Dare, and a trip to Abuja was anticipated soon.

“The President had a productive discussion, and as you are aware, Guinea owes our President a great deal of guidance.

“He is likely to visit Nigeria very soon at President Tinubu’s invitation,” Dare stated.

Doumbouya, who won Guinea’s recent presidential election with 86.2 per cent of the vote, is navigating his country’s transition to civilian democratic rule.Guinea is scheduled to hold parliamentary elections within the next two weeks.

According to Dare, the conference created strategic potential for economic collaboration between Nigeria and Guinea. Guinea’s significant natural resource richness in metals, minerals, and related infrastructure opportunities presented a shared interest.

“Guinea has a lot of potential, metals, minerals, and so on,” he stated.

“Nigeria and Guinea are now able to collaborate.

“I’m sure we will see that develop in the days and years ahead, and the possibilities are great,” he stated.

Guinea is one of the most mineral-rich nations in Africa. It has substantial concentrations of iron ore, gold, and diamonds in addition to the world’s greatest stocks of bauxite, the primary commodity used to make aluminum.
