Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, is currently in a private, closed-door meeting with Seyi Makinde in Ibadan.

The meeting, which took place on Tuesday at the Governor’s Office within the Secretariat in Ibadan, comes shortly after Makinde hosted a major opposition summit in the state capital — a gathering that brought together influential political figures and stakeholders amid ongoing coalition talks.

While the exact details of Obi’s discussion with Makinde remain undisclosed, the timing has sparked interest, with many viewing it as part of a wider wave of strategic consultations happening behind the scenes.

This development follows Obi’s recent private engagement with Goodluck Jonathan — a meeting that also drew national attention and fueled conversations about shifting political alliances.

Providing insight into the purpose of such meetings, Yunusa Tanko, a former spokesperson for Obi’s campaign and National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, explained that these visits are intentional and strategic.
