Responding separately in Ibadan on Sunday, both Makinde and Ladoja, through their media representatives, described the allegation as baseless and without any merit.

Fayose had earlier taken to his X (formerly Twitter) account to claim that Makinde was planning to depose Ladoja.

According to him, “I have it on good authority that Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is making moves to remove the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.

“The plan is expected to begin this week, starting with an official query from the government over his absence at the controversial coronation of High Chiefs in Ibadanland two weeks ago, along with other accusations.”

However, Ladoja’s media aide, Adeola Oloko, dismissed the claim in an interview with Naija Street Matters, describing it as unfounded.

He said he saw no reason for any disagreement between the governor and the Olubadan that could lead to such a move.

“It would be quite unfortunate if this is anything beyond mere rumour. I only came across it online like everyone else. There is no known issue between the governor and the Olubadan of Ibadanland,” he stated.

Similarly, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, clarified that the state government had never considered or discussed any such plan.

“By now, Nigerians should be able to discern credible information, especially when it originates from certain quarters.

“The Oyo State Government has not at any time contemplated, discussed, or planned such an action.

“Every government decision must have a clear and justifiable reason, and this claim, coming from an unofficial voice of the opposition, should be discarded.

“Desperate politics often breeds reckless propaganda and undermines the integrity of democracy,” he said.
