A public rift has opened within Lagos transport union circles after Ganiyu Oyedepo, widely known as Koko Zaria, accused his former ally and union leader, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo of personal betrayal.
In a video now circulating across social media, Koko Zaria alleged that MC Oluomo had intimate relationships with women he was involved with during their time working closely in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
Once regarded as one of MC Oluomo’s closest associates, Koko Zaria said his years within the union were marked by hardship and frustration, claiming his progress was deliberately hindered. He also said public criticism portraying him as disloyal failed to capture what he described as private humiliation.
The accusations come amid ongoing leadership changes within the Lagos chapter of the NURTW. Koko Zaria has since aligned himself with Mustapha, also known as Sego, who succeeded MC Oluomo as chairman, a shift that has reportedly deepened internal divisions.
MC Oluomo has not publicly responded to the allegations, which remain unverified.
The dispute underscores growing tensions within one of Nigeria’s most powerful transport unions, as internal rivalries increasingly spill into the public space.
