Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Anambra State Governorship Election, is currently in the lead as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues to upload results from the election held on Saturday.

As of the latest update, over 99 percent of results have been uploaded to INEC’s Results Viewing Portal, despite allegations of vote-buying and other electoral irregularities. Although election materials arrived on time at many polling units, the overall voter turnout was low, despite a rise in the collection of Permanent Voter Cards prior to the election. Preliminary analyses indicate that Soludo is winning in key regions, particularly within his stronghold of Aguata Local Government Area in the Anambra South Senatorial District and parts of the Anambra Central Senatorial District.
