The Nigeria Police Force and the Inspector General of Police have been ordered by the Federal High Court in Warri to cease the current tinted glass permit enforcement exercise and preserve the status quo.

Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025: Inspector General of Police & Nigeria Police Force v. John Aikpokpo-Martins was heard today, October 3.
In an interim decision, the court instructed the police to adhere to the legal system while the case is being handled.

The legal team’s leader, Kunle Edun, SAN, confirmed the development and said the direction is a significant step in guaranteeing that the rule of law is respected while the case’s substantive issues are being decided.
