The electoral umpire announced that the online pre-registration phase has begun today, Monday, August 18, 2025, in a message made on its official X handle.

According to the commission, before the physical registration process starts on August 25, 2025, qualified Nigerians can start the registration process online at www.cvr.inecnigeria.org.

“To ensure easy access for potential voters, in-person registration will be held at all of its 37 state offices and 774 local government area (LGA) offices nationwide,” the statement stated.

New voters who are 18 years of age or older, those who want to pick up or transfer their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and those who need to replace damaged or missing PVCs can all participate in the CVR exercise.
However, the agency issued a warning that violators face penalties for numerous registrations.

Noting that voter registration is essential to guaranteeing inclusive participation in the country’s democratic process, INEC further urged Nigerians to seize the chance.
The public was urged by the commission to contact them by short code 4632 or by calling its call center at 0700-CALL-INEC (0700-2255-4632).

By promising that all eligible voters would have the chance to register before the next elections, INEC reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening democracy.
