Obi warned eligible voters not to undervalue their PVC’s influence, calling it “the voice of the voiceless, the shield of the weak, and the weapon of the poor against injustice and bad leadership,” in a message published on Monday via his official X Twitter.

You have the key to our beloved country’s destiny. Obi emphasized that Nigerians must band together to make election tampering harder, saying, “The voter’s card is the greatest strength of democracy.”

He warned citizens against selling their votes, saying politicians who engage in vote buying do so only to secure access to public funds for looting. “Those who buy votes are not offering you charity; they only invest in their own corruption. Such people are not leaders, they are criminals in disguise,” he said. Obi further noted that those who sell their votes mortgage their future, denying themselves and their children access to quality education, healthcare, and job opportunities.

He cautioned Nigerians against being duped or intimidated during the election process and advised people to support leaders who possess expertise, character, capacity, and compassion.

“Our democracy is on the line.” For this reason, I implore all eligible Nigerians to register, obtain, and protect their PVC, and then use it responsibly when the time comes. Together, let’s demonstrate that Nigeria is the people’s country, not those who would sell our future for their own benefit, Obi stated.
