The Reds are playing their first league game since Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, died in a traffic accident in July.

In his pre-match program notes, manager Arne Slot acknowledged the momentous occasion, according to a club statement released on Friday.
Since this is the first league game we have played since losing Diogo and Andre, we are aware that it will be an extremely emotional occasion.
“The tributes that have been paid throughout the football world, and particularly within the LFC community, have been incredibly wonderful, as I have stated before, and I am confident that we will unite tonight to honor them once more.
“I think Diogo’s wife, kids, and family will be there, and it’s crucial that we as a club let them know they have our undying love and support while they cope with this most heartbreaking of circumstances. “We are always there for them,” he wrote.
Liverpool will not undervalue guests.
Slot also considered the upcoming football match, as Bournemouth, led by Andoni Iraola, will be arriving at Anfield for the 8 p.m. BST kickoff.
“Obviously, we are happy to be back here for a competitive game in terms of football.
“Obviously, it has been a long time, but nothing compares to Anfield under the lights, and we are all excited to start our campaign this evening,” he stated.
The manager of Liverpool cautioned against underestimating the guests.

In the meanwhile, Liverpool FC has introduced a Diogo Jota memorial T-shirt, with all proceeds going to the LFC Foundation to fund a grassroots football initiative in his honor.
In addition to words from his fan song and “Forever 20,” the tribute artwork includes “a poignant image of Jota making a celebratory heart gesture with his hands.”
“The number 20 shirt has been retired in Diogo’s honor and memory across all levels of the club, including LFC Women and the Academy,” the club announced following consultation with his family.
Additionally, supporters can have “Diogo J. 20” emblazoned on the back of their shirts; all printing earnings will support the same grassroots effort.
