In a shocking mid-air drama that has sent ripples through Nigeria’s aviation industry, Comfort Emmanson, a passenger aboard an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos, now finds herself behind the high walls of Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison.

The trouble began moments after the aircraft landed in Lagos. According to reports, Emmanson refused to switch off her phone when instructed, then allegedly lashed out — stepping on the purser, tearing off her wig, slapping another staff member, and even attempting to grab a fire extinguisher. The situation escalated until she was restrained and handed over to the police.

Her court appearance was swift, with the magistrate ordering her remand in Kirikiri pending further proceedings. In a rare show of industry unity, the Airlines Operators of Nigeria (AON) issued an indefinite ban, barring her from flying on any member airline.
