Idris made this claim on Tuesday while appearing on Radio Nigeria Kaduna’s “Hannu Da Yawa,” a live Hausa-language phone-in show that was televised and watched by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He said that Tinubu visited the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation prior to the 2023 presidential election and gave the North assurances on security, education, and agriculture.
With the theme “Accessing Electoral Promises: Fostering Government-Citizen Engagement for National Unity,” the same foundation extended an invitation to us to participate in their two-day interactive session on government-citizen engagement.
Let it be known that Tinubu fulfilled his pledges to the North after winning the election by appointing a large number of Northerners to serve in his cabinet.
In fact, there are over 60 of us from the north working with Tinubu, including myself, the Minister of Defense, the National Security Advisor, the Chief of Defense Staff, the Ministers of Agriculture, Women Affairs, Health, Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, and many more.
“We are at the foundation with more than 20 ministers and others to recount all the promises fulfilled and some outstanding accomplishments impacting not only the north but the entire country, two years into his administration.”
“But today, we have demonstrated and seen that such a narrative is not true,” Idris remarked, addressing the false claims that Tinubu had marginalized the North.
“He has really performed admirably for the North.”
The minister emphasized that the team would keep raising awareness of the remarkable accomplishments made by the Tinubu administration, particularly among those in the North. (NAN)
