Due to serious wrongdoing, Malam Adamu Shehu, a Senior Master, and Malam Musa Ahmed, the Principal of Government Day Secondary School, Kirfi, were demoted by the Bauchi State Teachers Service Commission.

Malam Dahiru Adamu, the commission’s information officer, made this announcement on Thursday in Bauchi.

He claimed that following a careful inquiry, the commission approved the demotion.
He clarified that the two were found guilty of deceiving and selling off some of the school’s assets without the state Ministry of Education’s approval.

They sold roofing zinc, nine large metal pots, and thirty-two used student beds.

According to Garba Bashe, the Commission’s supervising Permanent Secretary, a four-member committee looked into the case and determined that the two officers were guilty of the charges.
“The two officers have been demoted by one grade by the commission, and they will be assigned to teach in different schools,” he stated.

Additionally, the information officer stated that the two officers would return N597,000, the amount of the sold goods.

He added that the committee suggested the principal pay N72,000 to cover the school’s casual workers’ unpaid allowances.

He reaffirmed the commission’s resolve to work with the security services to retrieve the objects.
