Ayobo, Lagos – Tragedy struck the Ayobo area of Lagos State on Friday night as a woman was gruesomely murdered in what is believed to be a failed organ harvesting operation. The chilling incident has triggered widespread concern and a renewed call for women’s safety across the state.

According to a social media post by Esan Worldwide Community, a grassroots group with a strong online presence, the woman reportedly met three men at a local hotel in Ayobo. Following what appeared to be consensual intimacy, the situation turned violent. As the woman resisted what is believed to be an attempt to remove her kidney, the suspects allegedly broke her legs in the struggle, ultimately killing her. She was found in a pool of her own blood.

The post further states that the hotel manager, upon hearing the disturbance, intervened and managed to apprehend one of the men at the scene. The other two suspects reportedly fled and remain at large. Local authorities have yet to release an official statement, but community members and advocacy groups are demanding swift justice.

“May God continue to watch over us ladies,” the Esan Worldwide Community’s post concluded, echoing the heartbreak and fear shared by many Nigerian women following the news.

The incident has once again thrown a spotlight on rising cases of gender-based violence and the disturbing trend of organ trafficking in Nigeria. Community leaders, women’s rights activists, and citizens alike are calling on law enforcement agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice and that tighter regulations are placed on hotels and guest houses.
