Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor’s chief press secretary, stated that Malam Radda was on official business at the time of the event.

Mr. Mohammed stated in a statement that the governor is doing well, has not been seriously hurt, and is still in a good mood.

Governor Radda commended Katsina residents and other well-wishers for their prayers and concern, and he expressed gratitude for what he called supernatural protection.
