After regular and extra time ended without a goal, the Banyana Banyana defeated Senegal 4-1 on penalties in a tight quarterfinal match on Saturday.

Nigeria, on the other hand, maintained their flawless tournament record by crushing Zambia’s Copper Queens 5-0 on Friday, securing their spot in the semi-finals. With eight goals without giving up in four games, the Super Falcons are still undefeated, demonstrating their attacking prowess and defensive tenacity.

All eyes are on the semi-finals now that the quarterfinals are over, and the matchup between South Africa and Nigeria is without a doubt the main event. South Africa defeated Nigeria 1-0 in the group stage of WAFCON 2022, the two teams’ most recent meeting, which took place in Morocco.

Following their heartbreaking defeat to the Super Falcons in the 2018 championship game, that victory served as atonement. Nigeria is confident going into Tuesday’s matchup thanks to their strong play and unwavering defense.

In the meantime, South Africa will want to duplicate their 2022 result and deny the nine-time champions another opportunity to win the championship.

The competition will come to an exciting conclusion on Tuesday when Ghana’s Black Queens play host country Morocco in the other semi-final match.
