Police go to the relatives of the murdered Kwara Poly student.

Kwara State Police Commissioner Victor Olaiya visited the family of the late Quoyum Ishola, a student killed at Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin, paying a condolence visit in Alagbon, Oke Andi.

The CP expressed gratitude to the family for their cooperation during the investigation and delivered the IGP’s assurance that justice will be served, according to a statement made available to the press on Wednesday and signed by Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, DSP, Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara Command, on behalf of the state commissioner of police.

“All officers involved in the investigation have been transferred for a thorough and impartial inquiry by the IGP, who has directed the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) to take over the investigation,” the statement read.

“The mother and father of the deceased, Mr. Muselim Abdulyekeen and Mrs. Ramat Abdulyekeen spoke on behalf of the immediate family and thanked the Inspector General of Police and the Kwara State Police Command for their unwavering support.

“They expressed again how optimistic they are that their late kid will receive justice as a result of the current investigation. The family’s clergyman, Alhaji Mohamed Kewugbemi, prayed and applauded the police for their dedication to justice. Alhaji Erolalujana, also known as Olori-Ebi, conveyed his gratitude for the police’s assistance during this trying period.

In an effort to demonstrate support for the family, the release further stated that Engr. Abdul-Jimoh Mohammed, the Rector of Kwara State Polytechnic, joined the police team.

According to the statement, “Kwara State Command’s Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya psc(+), assures the family that the command is committed to ensuring justice and transparency in this case.”

Recall that on Wednesday of last week, Qoyum, an ND 2 Electrical Electronics Engineering student at Kwara State Polytechnic, was allegedly shot and killed by a group of police officers from the state Police Command during a stop and search in the Fate area of Ilorin.
