They will take on the daunting task of facing off against multiple league winners like Pep Guardiola, his fiercest rival Mikel Arteta, and a plethora of other seasoned EPL coaches.
The league is scheduled to run until May, so this season should be an exciting contest of cunning and strategy.
Slot Arne (Liverpool)
With Jurgen Klopp’s resignation at the end of the previous season, 45-year-old Dutchman Arne Slot has assumed leadership at Liverpool, making history as the team’s first new head coach in almost ten years.
Slot comes from Feyenoord, where he had a fantastic three-year stint that included an Eredivisie championship, a Dutch Cup victory, and a trip to the UEFA Europa Conference League final in 2022.
Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca
Beginning in June, Italian coach Enzo Maresca was named Chelsea’s head coach, succeeding Mauricio Pochettino.
Maresca comes with strong credentials, having led Leicester City, who were relegated in 2022–23, to the Championship title and an instant return to the Premier League the following season.
Maresca has been a midfield player for almost 20 years. He played for West Bromwich Albion and Manchester City, where he was Pep Guardiola’s assistant in 2022.
In a surprising turn of events, Maresca will play his debut Premier League game on Sunday, August 18, against Manchester City, his old coach.
McKenna Kieran (Ipswich)
Since taking over in December 2021, Kieran McKenna, who is only 38 years old, has guided Ipswich Town to consecutive promotions, earning the team its first Premier League appearance since 2002.
McKenna moved into coaching after an injury ended his playing career at the age of 22, when he took on academy positions with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
Martin Russell (Southampton)
After just one season away from the Premier League, Russell Martin, then 38, led Southampton to promotion in his first campaign at St Mary’s.
Martin is a former defender who played 125 Premier League games for Norwich City. He has previously managed Swansea City and MK Dons.
On August 17, he will manage his first Premier League away game against Newcastle United.
Hurzeler Fabian (Brighton)
When he takes the field against Everton on August 17, at the age of 31, 180 days, Fabian Hurzeler, who was appointed as Brighton & Hove Albion’s head coach at just 31 years and 110 days, will become the youngest head coach in Premier League history.
Hurzeler is noteworthy for being the first head coach in the Premier League to be born after the league’s founding in August 1992.
The Premier League (EPL) begins with five new managers, including St Pauli, who was recently promoted to the Bundesliga. The season runs through May, with fans anticipating a competitive campaign.
