According to sources, football star Cristiano Ronaldo will wed Georgina Rodriguez on the Portuguese island of Madeira, where he was born and reared.

The Funchal Cathedral in the island’s capital has apparently been reserved for the couple’s wedding ceremony in Madeira, according to the British daily The Sun.

According to report, the wedding is scheduled for this Saturday, August 8, 2026, and the five-star Savoy Palace hotel in Funchal will host the reception.

Georgina, 32, and Ronaldo, 41, who was raised in Funchal, met in Spain and have been dating since 2016.

The couple was recently spotted wearing diamond rings while boarding a yacht in Majorca, which fueled more rumors about their impending nuptials. The Portugal captain proposed to Georgina in August 2025.

Ronaldo had previously said that he and Georgina intended to tie the knot following the World Cup, expressing his desire to bring the championship trophy to the wedding.

Ronaldo had said to Piers Morgan, “I hope to arrive at my wedding with the champion’s trophy.”

Georgina was the only lady he had dated and wanted to settle down with, according to the former Manchester United forward who now plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
