The Bauchi State Police Command has conducted operations leading to the arrest of five suspects related to burglary and the possession of suspected cannabis. These arrests stemmed from routine patrols carried out by the Violent Crime Response Unit across the Bauchi metropolis.

One significant operation occurred on August 3, 2026, around 2:00 p.m., in Doya Quarters, Bauchi, where a patrol team intercepted a tricycle (Keke NAPEP) with the registration number TRR123VD. Three individuals were found in the vehicle, and during the investigation, the wife of one occupant disclosed that she had traveled to Jos on July 31, 2026. Upon her return, she found some belongings, including clothes and a gold earring, missing from her room.

Later that day, at around 4:00 p.m., the same patrol team arrested two additional suspects in the Bayan Gari area for allegedly possessing cannabis. The suspects, Mansur Sani, 25, and Umar Muhammad, 30, both from Bakin Kura, were apprehended while exchanging parcels believed to contain Indian hemp.

Ongoing investigations aim to apprehend a fleeing suspect connected to the burglary, known as Nanu. Moreover, authorities are discreetly investigating the source of the suspected cannabis. Following the completion of investigations, the suspects will face charges in court.
