Police release Osun State SSG to Gov Adeleke

The Osun State Police command announced the release of Mr. Teslim Igbalaye, the secretary to the state government, who had been detained along with five others for alleged involvement in vote-buying activities. During the investigation, police recovered Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs), cash, and a voters’ register from Igbalaye's residence.

The arrested individuals include Abiodun Arowomole, a noted murder suspect, along with Taiwo Akande, Lukman Adeyemo, Muftau Olaoye, and Musiliu Aderemi. DSP Abiodun Ojelabi confirmed that while Igbalaye has been released, the investigation continues.

The news of the SSG’s release was met with celebration among supporters of Governor Ademola Adeleke, with Pelumi Olajengbesi, the spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, expressing gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, and Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, for responding to public sentiment and ensuring justice. Olajengbesi emphasized the importance of the Nigerian Police Force in upholding citizens’ rights and noted that Igbalaye’s courage and commitment to the people of Osun State will not be forgotten.
