Speculation about Guardiola’s future intensified after reports claimed Manchester City were already preparing internally for a possible departure following Sunday’s league game against Aston Villa.

Former City assistant coach Enzo Maresca was also mentioned in reports as a potential replacement for the Spaniard.

However, Guardiola brushed aside the rumours during his press conference ahead of Manchester City’s away fixture against Bournemouth.

“So many times, I have one more year,” Guardiola said while responding to questions about his future.

The Spanish coach, whose current contract still has one year remaining, also denied claims that his recent matches could be part of a goodbye tour.

“I am here, I have a contract,” he stated firmly.

Guardiola also reacted to reports suggesting Manchester City could name the club’s newly expanded North Stand after him if he leaves this summer.

“No, no, no, no, no, no, I have no idea about that,” he responded.

“They don’t have to do anything, honestly,” he added.

Since joining Manchester City in 2016, Guardiola has turned the club into one of football’s most dominant sides, winning multiple major trophies including six Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, three FA Cups and five League Cups.

Despite ongoing speculation surrounding his future, Guardiola could still end the campaign with another Premier League title after already guiding City to FA Cup and Carabao Cup triumphs this season.
